My adorable hubs asked me to stop by his station to snag some quick shots of his crew, commemorating his Captain’s retirement this month. Captain Valenzuela is an amazing man, teacher, husband, father and Fire Captain who has been loyally serving San Diego for 26 years. Prior to being hired on with SDFD at the age of 30, he was a teacher and rock star (Seriously!…okay, you may not have heard of him, but he WAS in a rock band anyway.). Quite a life story, Steve has….and quite a legacy he’s leaving behind.
All the rest of the crew grew out a mustache in honor of Steve’s retirement… It’s rumored Steve’s only been without his signature ‘stach twice in his life. 🙂 His wife’s a saint…Mark only had his for a few weeks and it was driving me NUTS!
Love this of them all…
…such a GREAT Captain. 🙂
And OF COURSE there has to be at least one shot of my sweet Photographer’s Assistant, right? 🙂 I just can’t resist!
CAPTAIN VALENZUELA: Thank you for all your dedicated years of service and for being such an amazing leader for your crew and all those who have learned from you. Your departure leaves such a void on the department and you will be sorely missed. (Now try not to drive sweet Yvonne crazy!)
