I am beyond blessed to have the most wonderful girlfriends in my life. Truly these women are AMAZING…and I never can seem to get enough time with any of them. Knowing life is never going to slow down, I purposed to plan out some fun dinner parties to facilitate more memory-making with these beauties. After a busy summer, and a busy wedding season, I couldn’t wait for this one to come together. My sweet friend Holly & I filled a table of 10 with some massively gifted gals, and I threw an oversized vat of homemade Sangria in the fridge to get the ball rolling.
My incredibly, incredibly talented friends Susie & Carol of Penny & Lulu Studio Florist & Events helped me create the most incredible tablescape for our Spanish Maids theme. Every detail was over the top…from their gilded candlesticks, to the amazing florals, and oodles of fresh fall fruit. They knocked it out of the park, as they always do! Just adore them both! Every time I’m blessed enough to photograph their amazing work, I’m humbled beyond measure by their kindness, talent, and the pure joy they have for what they do.
The ever-sweet Lacie from Rosewood Vintage Rentals came and also loaned us the handsome farmhouse table, which had plenty of room for the 10 of us. She has like 20 of these bad boys in her warehouse…crazy fun!
I had originally planned to host the dinner out in our back pasture, but the Oregon rain was making me jumpy so at the last minute I called up my good friend Ashley at Eden Valley Orchards and she graciously allowed us to move it out behind their beautiful old barn (so we could slip inside if it rained). I’m truly obsessed with this place…I grew up riding my horses through her orchards, was blessed to actually second shoot at her own wedding there back in my early days of shooting, and now Ash is on speed dial for the number of shoots & weddings I book on their property. The orchards, surrounding outbuildings and the Voorhies mansion itself, are just beautiful!
Last, but never least, my dear friend Nicole hand crafted some incredibly delicious and ridiculously beautiful cakes for us ladies to end the night with. She truly must’ve worked for Martha Stewart in another life (or maybe she WAS Martha Stewart in another life! LOL) because this woman has MAD skills when it comes to crafts, baking, decorating, gift-giving, and a multitude of other things. I think I got robbed when they were handing out talent because she must’ve been in front of me in line. This woman is ridiculous. Joyful, genuine, deeply loving, and ridiculously talented.
After all was said and done, I probably could have stayed at this table surrounded by my braided beauties for a straight week… Alas, the next one is in the works already! Stay tuned! xo
