Family Photography | Frederick’s | Part II: Adventure Session

I fell in love with the storybook feel of my wilderness session with dear friends, the Frederick Family (you can see their dreamy session here), and could hardly wait to assemble their annual family album.

After the first half of our time together, we reconnect with each other as families. In our busy, hectic paced lives, it can be hard to find time to just unplug, reconnect, and build community. Taking in the amazing sights around us and breathing in the fresh, clean air…while we explore new terrain and just seek peace in each others company. It’s a truly beautiful journey I am blessed to be able to enjoy with sweet couples and families like this…such cherished quality time together. It is rejuvenating and refreshing to have that space to enter into.

Capturing their family adventure, as well as some beautiful scenic imagery for them to relive their journey even more through as the years progress, the images from these adventure sessions make the most spectacular memory albums.  As I hand-pick the images, I try to re-tell the story so the reader gets to re-live those amazing days as they turn the pages. The photos below are so vivid, you can almost smell the fresh air!

“Being connected to everything has disconnected us from ourselves
and the preciousness of this present moment.
We have to step away to recapture what we need.”

― L.M. Browning

Cody & Aimee:  Thank you doesn’t begin to cover what I feel for the opportunity you give me each year. Sharing such incredible time together is as real as real gets. You are the salt of the earth and I glean unending inspiration for the way in which you deliberately live your life. Your unwavering support for my work leaves me humbled and challenged to do even better each time I shoot, and I’m forever grateful. Grateful for your friendship, blessed by your love and yearning for more days spent together… xo

  • Aimee - Oh Betsy, what a beautiful post about our summer adventure! When I was dreaming up the idea to pitch to you, I really didn’t expect that it would pan out as perfectly as it did. WE are so grateful for your friendship, your talent, and your willingness to share yourself with us. We also yearn for more days spent together exploring, conversing and dreaming up new, wild, and uncharted ideas… Love you (and M, M & J too) so so so much! xoxo
