Dear Diary,

Is it so wrong to be in love with each and every luscious canvas print that gets delivered to my door? I KNOW they’re for my precious clients…but do I have to watch them ALL turn around and leave me, so soon? Like the one that just found a new home with my friend Josh…it’s just so deep & lovely! I don’t understand why it can’t just hang around MY house for a month or two… It’s just too difficult parting with something so quickly, that you fell deeply in love with at first sight. Would it be horrible of me to affect a new “Business Policy” that states I, the artist, must retain each and every canvas, print and album for a minimum period of one (1) month for “settling & professional appreciation purposes”? I think that sounds completely fair and reasonable. Don’t you? …*sigh*

Whilst talking shop and scheming about new ideas from the back of our horses (we do great thinking from way up there!), my friend Tricia and I decided to rent a booth space and display some of our stock work at the fun little Del Mar Artisan Market (across from the Farmer’s Market, in between 10th & 11th at 1050 Camino del Mar/101) this Saturday. It’s been a fun adventure to get ready for and we’ve both spend a ton of hours and probably a bit too much cash preparing for it. But nonetheless, we’re both so excited at the chance to meet new people and be a part of a fun community event, all the while maybe selling a handful of prints.

So, if you’re in the neighborhood, please come see us! We’ll be in a cute little white shade tent w/ windows (yes, it probably cost too much!) and our work will be spread out all over. We’ll have our tunes going, plenty of dog bones for our special furry guests, and a drawing for a FREE SESSION with us both! So come stop by!

Hwy 101

I just returned from a week-long trip north to the Bay Area. I gave my 50D some moderate exercise, visited family & friends, and ate WAY too much food! What is it with traveling? I think if I skipped the next few meals I’d feel much better. Fat chance, though! LOL

We drove home to San Diego via Hwy 101, which I must say I don’t drive often enough. So many gorgeous views and amazing places to visit! I could’ve spent weeks just puttering along in Santa Barbara or Solvang. But alas, I’m home again and playing catch up. It’s always such fun to travel but there’s no place like home… *sigh*

Coronado Code-9

As my hubby-the-firefighter has taught me, the term “Code-9″ in the department is fireman talk for working out. So that’s the term we use in our house. Even Duke the dog is starting to recognize the term. So in between processing and location scouting today, Duke and I “Code-9′d” at Coronado dog beach.

There’s something to be said about warm salty air, sunshine, sand between your toes and your favorite jogging partner bounding out in front of you. That little jog was all it took to get me fully rejuvenated and ready to get back to work. As for Duke, he’s in a post-bath coma, snoring at my feet… *sigh* Such bliss!

Off to the Masters!

In my previous life in Oregon, I worked the rainy winter months (when shooting outside wasn’t much of an option! LOL) as an Event Coordinator. I got to work with clients in amazing places like gorgeous Pebble Beach, CA for a private golf event…sizzling Miami, FL for the SuperBowl…and Dublin, Ireland for the Ryder Cup. I was a very blessed girl! And now my previous boss has asked me to help him out again this year at the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, GA. I’m stoked to get to spend time with my amazing group of friends & co-workers again back there and fill up on Chef Tom’s famous Filet on Pound Cake (my fav!). And if I’m lucky, I might even get to stalk Tiger again during Practice Rounds w/ a 70-200 mm lens…Wish me luck!

I often find myself spending waaay to much time behind the computer these days. Between developing new marketing materials and keeping up on my website to communicating with friends, family and clients alike on Facebook and email…oh yes and then there’s just the teeny task of processing images…well, the days fly by. So rather than spend another day in my office, I decided to join my brother and his girlfriend for a stroll on the boardwalk…to enjoy the SoCal coast.
