Matt & Christy don’t just live on boat in a marina off the coast of San Diego. They don’t just randomly use umbrellas as sails while they skateboard together. And they certainly don’t just make my heart melt with the love they share for their soon-to-be-here little baby boy. They OWN it! This couple inspires me to live simpler, say less & mean more, share more of my time with others, create more joy in every little detail, and be a better mate…they are truly some of the most special people you may ever meet. Here’s a quick glimpse into their Land of Love with the baby boy who is soon to be blessed to join their journey through this world…

Oh yes…did I mention they rule the boards? Skate, surf and I’m sure snow as well! Seeing as I ALWAYS end up on my derriere, this is one talent I covet and respect them highly for. *sigh*

Their little nautical home is the cutest thing you’ll ever see! And they even have a wash machine on-board that washes and DRIES clothes all in one little unit! Boggles my mind!

She was sooo busy in the womb during the Sonogram and had us giggling. Then she finally struck THIS (below) jack knifed pose in the end!! LOL My little yogi, already!

We’re soooooooooooo SUPER excited! Baby showers are underway as well as nursery decoration plans and yes…her NAME! Any suggestions? I want to hear them ALL so leave a trillion of them in the comments! FUN!

As for her nursery, I plan on obviously covering her walls with canvas images of her at EVERY stage of life, but here are some other ideas I like as well…any thoughts? So much to think about…so much to do!

And…I shot another wedding last week which was so indescribably, beautifully epic I’m planning to try and finally use it as my very first SUBMISSION to some fabulous wedding blogs. We’ll see if it get’s picked up! Fingers crossed… It just DESERVES that much attention for being such a splendid affair between two amazing people! But alas, in the meantime, I’ll have to refrain from blogging about it until a little later along. But stay tuned! You’ll love all the amazing details…I promise (think Fendi shoes, Kate Spade & Amale couture dresses, bundles of flowers and glowing, streaming sunlight through palm trees!)! Can’t wait to share it with you!

Bethany had a fun idea to shoot with her adorable 2 oz (not really…probably less!) chihuahua, Goliath, and some balloons, in her signature purple color, to use on her website & marketing goods. I had her meet Duke & I at Lake Murray and took her to one of Duke the Dog’s favorite little dirt roads. It was perfect! That is until the wind started gusting off the water…taking Bethany’s lovely locks and her bundle of balloons into flight. She…was a beautiful mess! But we had a blast and got some really fun shots!

We reversed rolls at the very end for a few quick shots of Duke and I, with my new vintage Eastman accordion camera…so fun! Stay tuned on her blog for a sneak peek of those.

Could you please come to Brentwood and update my portfolio? I’m in need of some new headshots for my 1 Year Birthday Party announcements, being designed by the sweet Kim Schwede. I had mom purchase a new pink tutu, matching knit sweater and ballet slippers for the shoot.

Oh, and I’m in a bit of a hurry. Pronto please…pronto!

Take Jessica’s shoot, for example. She’s a down-home, spunky doll…with the sweetness of a kindergarden teacher…and the body of a Victoria’s Secret model. On a blustery fall day, in beautiful & colorful Southern Oregon, Jessica and I found “French Chic”!!! LOVE THAT! We had a b-l-a-s-t (and had to call down to the front desk to barter just a wee little bit more time) in our quaint little B&B and now I feel overwhelmed with a love for all things warm & European-styled as I browse through her images.

THANK YOU Jessica…for transporting me back to France…and for building some amazing, lasting, fun memories with me while we captured your indescribably beauty. You are truly Très Chic!!

Here’s a few favorites from my recent holiday shoot with the adorable (and sweetest of sweet!) Rubey family in Balboa Park!

As much as I love my beachy San Diego home, my heart longs for days like this one in my hometown area of Southern Oregon:  acres of blue-green grass, brassy & golden in the waning light, stretching tall towards the sky & then bending in the soft, warm breeze…the sound of robin birds alerting in the trees and the occasional chaotic flight of a startled pheasant in the field…the sweet smell of summer grass & the earth blooming…and all around, the gentle, slow-paced peace of a sleepy little town.

Bryan & Erika’s shoot was a step back in time for me…of romping through the tall fields, avoiding the shocks from the hot wire fence, playing hard until your shirt clung to you and you collapsed in the cool shelter of the grass, laughing until your sides ached and then picking about a trillion little burrs out of your socks & shoes when you got back to the car. Pure bliss! And I’d love to do it all again, every day, with this sweet, special family. I’m already eager to see what our next shoot brings…I can’t wait!!!
